Amazing

If you are looking for a place that allows you to learn or freshen up on your typing skills for you or even a child, Typing provides lessons for free in all types of experience levels. You can start as a beginner, just learning the 100 most common words, or if you’re more experienced and wanting a challenge they have a more advanced testing section as well

Idea 10/10

The entire idea is to allow you or children to learn how to type and keep in practice as time goes on. They make it fun by allowing you to keep score, presenting your words per minute average and even alerts you on which keys you are having the most problems with. As you advance, they also keep record so you can come back and review your progress.

Design 9/10

Typing review

We found that the way the typing tests are set up are fun and interactive, and really help you visualize where you’re fingers are placed when typing. However, when we tested out the beginner category we noticed that when typing fast, it often could not keep up and would miss letters and then present ‘problem letters’ at the end as a result of it. So, the results were not 100% accurate every time.

Utility 10/10

Typing has become the norm, over recent years computers and typing has become a needed skill in nearly every area from school to offices, even applying for jobs require online applications now. We find that typing tests offer a great opportunity for people to learn how to type, or keep in practice at their own pace.

Price 10/10

Typing

Typing.com provides their typing test services at no charge. They seem to be more focused on giving people a chance to learn to type or stay in practice and improve their typing skills rather than charging for a service that we could see being at least a few dollars per month. As always, you cannot beat the price of free!

Usability 9/10

The overall concept of Typing.com and all of the services that they offer is great. They allow people to have a chance to learn how to type and make it a fun experience instead of taking a test that seems more like a chore. It’s not just aimed towards kids or adults either, it provides a great environment for anyone that wants to be able to type or work on typing better.

Children and adults can start at the beginning, learning to type the more common words first before moving on to the more advanced tests that really test your typing skills. All of the tests are provided for free, so you don’t have to worry about any monthly charges and can focus directly on your typing and improving your skills!
